1. Introduction

Welcome to MagmaAlert. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any information we may collect through your use of the MagmaAlert website and mobile application.

2. Data We Collect

MagmaAlert is designed with a "privacy-first" approach. We do not require account creation or personal profile information.
  • Push Notification Tokens: If you enable notifications, we collect a unique Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token. This token is used solely to route volcanic alerts to your device. It is not linked to your identity.
  • Local Preferences: Your volcano "Following" preferences and UI settings are stored locally on your device.
  • Analytics: We may collect anonymous usage data (e.g., tech stack used, feature engagement) to improve the app experience.
  • Advertising Identifiers: Our mobile application displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's Advertising ID and usage data to deliver personalized or contextual advertisements. You can opt out of personalized ads through your device's settings.

3. How We Use Data

We use your data strictly to:
  • Deliver real-time volcanic alerts for the volcanoes you follow.
  • Synchronize your monitoring dashboard preferences.
  • Maintain system stability and security.

4. Third-Party Advertising

The MagmaAlert mobile application uses Google AdMob to display banner advertisements. AdMob is operated by Google and is subject to Google's own Privacy Policy. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP addresses, and interaction data to serve relevant ads. MagmaAlert does not control AdMob's data practices. No ads are displayed on the MagmaAlert website.

5. Data Security

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS (SSL) protocols. We do not sell your data to third parties.
